Current Company:

Private Family Office

Title:

Family Office Director

Education (SMU specific):

'08 - BBA Accounting & International Trade Economics

Career Background:

Did about 8+ years in Dallas Big 4 (KPMG and Deloitte). Led the SMU recruiting teams for the final seven of the eight years and hired about 30 SMU Cox interns. Spun off to lead a major transition for a publicly traded client, when they walked back those plans I was hired into wealth management to lead up the financial relationship with a major client. Was soon hired by said client to stand up their single family office, lead investments, back office, estate planning. After five years, I was poached by an AR/MO family office to do the same here in Bentonville, AR - land of Walmart. Been here in the Ozarks a little over two years. I have brought on SMU Mustangs at each company I've worked for in my career until now - and I am keeping my eyes out for more Alumni in Northwest Arkansas.

What am I doing – describe your current role and objectives:

I currently lead a private family office, a few estates, and an expansive family portfolio of public, private, and alternative investments. Been doing this for the past eight years and plan to finish out my career in this private equity space. It's a dynamic and rewarding role and my timing entering it was fortunate.

Connections trying to make:

My attention was brought to this group via some event marketing and then SMU On3. Before our family moved to Arkansas a few years ago, I served in the Life After Ball program, the SMU Young Alumni Board (committee chair), served the SMU Cox Mentor program since its formal (re)inception, and I host/attend football season SMU boulevard despite the commute. I played football and assume I have a connection with a number of group members. I've always looked for opportunities to get and stay involved. Would love to be an asset, especially an out of city asset, to any organization that's trying to improve network for Alums. I also figure my role and industry would be a strong addition to a networking pool for some of your members' interests. My parents still live in Dallas, a lot of my closest friends are in Dallas, and we make ten or so visits a year for family, events, andd football and basketball season ticket holders.
