About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Financial Analyst with 1-3 years of experience to join our Agency special servicing team. In this role, you will leverage your advanced Excel proficiency to analyze commercial real estate (CRE) financials, work within complex valuation models, and support the management and resolution of distressed assets. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in financial analysis, familiarity with the economics of income-producing properties, and a passion for problem-solving within the commercial real estate space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis & Modeling: Perform comprehensive financial statement and cash flow analysis, with a focus on distressed commercial real estate assets. Utilize discounted cash flow (DCF) and net present value (NPV) techniques for asset valuation.
  • Advanced Excel Modeling: Build, modify, and maintain complex Excel financial models to forecast property cash flows, evaluate loan resolutions, and assist in asset management decision-making (proficiency with pivot tables, advanced formulas, and macros is a must).
  • Asset Performance Monitoring: Track and evaluate asset performance, providing detailed reports and recommendations to senior management regarding distressed properties.
  • CRE Valuation: Support the valuation process of CRE assets, incorporating market trends and third-party data.
  • Collaborative Problem-Solving: Work with asset managers, legal teams, and external service providers to explore loan modification, workout, forbearance, and foreclosure options to maximize recovery for investors.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Assist in preparing various internal and client reports.
  • Market Data Analysis: Analyze market trends, third-party reports, and other relevant data to provide insights that will support asset management strategies and recommendations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, real estate, or asset management, with a preference for those with exposure to CMBS or distressed assets.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required), including building and working within financial models, working with large datasets, and using tools like Power BI or Tableau (a plus).
  • CRE Knowledge: Understanding of commercial real estate terminology and documents; familiarity with Agency financing structures and documents is a strong plus.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate raw data into meaningful analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Collaboration: A team player who can effectively work with colleagues across departments to develop solutions for distressed assets.
