In college, I was an intern at Tnemec Co where I helped sourcing raw materials from China to Saudi Arabia while dealing with offices over seas. Later, I worked as a Health and Welfare intern at Lockton Companies in Kansas City. Through daily meetings with clients and attending networking opportunities both internally and externally, I was able to better understand what an insurance brokerage is and the significant impact it has for so many companies. As my summer project, I worked with the international team to better understand the insurance landscape in Asia, Europe, and Central America. I had the opportunity to work closely with the CEO of Lockton China as well as the CEO of Lockton's subsidiary in France and Lockton Mexico. Through this, I gained valuable experience and knowledge that I've taken with me to IMA.
What am I doing – describe your current role and objectives:
At IMA, I work with a number of our services teams not only in Dallas, but throughout the country helping CFOs and management teams as a risk management consultant and partner. From reviewing and reworking policies, to working with London, to going to bat against underwriters, I've been exposed to it all. Using my French and Chinese, my partners and I have been able to assist our clients locally and abroad from the day to day operations to long term growth strategies, from a coverage perspective. Just up the toll-way, in Addison, it's great to remain close to SMU and still stay involved with what's going on, on campus.
Connections trying to make:
I am looking to expand my network and get more involved in the strong SMU alumni network that makes the school so special
