Career Background:

Jake Guarino joined Wilson Cribbs + Goren as a commercial real estate and land use associate upon graduating from the University of Houston Law Center in May 2024. His commercial real estate practice focuses on asset refinancing, acquisitions, dispositions, leasing work, while Jake's land use practice firm focuses on identifying, assessing and resolving a wide variety of land use and municipal issues that arise during the development process. Jake's hybrid practice encompasses matters across all asset types. At UHLC, Jake was a Dean’s Scholar and held numerous leadership roles, including President and Vice President of the Sports & Entertainment Law Organization, Treasurer of the Health Law Organization, and a Podcast Editor for the Houston Law Review. He also worked as a Teaching Assistant for a 1L Property class under Professor Gina Warren and actively participated in the various 1L Student Mentorship Programs on campus. Jake graduated from Southern Methodist University in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, and respective minors in Ethics and Law & Legal Reasoning. He was a Second Century Scholar and two-time Captain of the SMU Men’s Lacrosse Team, the Vice President of the SMU Philosophy Club, and a member of the SMU Real Estate Club and Sigma Alpha Epsilon.

What am I doing – describe your current role and objectives:

I am an attorney who resolves legal, regulatory, and development issues before they arise. I joined the 1911 Group to grow my client base and reengage my SMU roots.
