Career Background:

I have a unique practice that handles both transactional matters as well as litigation for clients in the real estate, land use, and construction industries. I represent clients in complex real estate transactions, focusing on the disposition, development, and leasing of commercial real estate. I also represent clients throughout the zoning and planning process. I have represented real estate developers and property owners on a variety of land use issues, including zoning changes, specific use permits, abandonments, annexation, signage, permitting, and planned development districts. I have also represented clients before boards of adjustment on variances and special exceptions. In my litigation practice, I have represented clients in a broad range of matters from complex commercial disputes to catastrophic tort cases involving construction, deceptive trade practices, and premises liability matters. I am experienced in all phases of litigation from investigation to trial. I also represent clients in litigation disputes with local governmental entities involving takings, inverse condemnation, vested rights, and the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act (RLUIPA). I also represent contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers in disputes involving construction defect claims, bond claims, mechanic's and materialmen's liens, architect and engineer professional liability, and payment claims.
