Overview

The Commercial Relationship Manager is responsible for acquiring, managing, and growing a portfolio of middle-market commercial clients. This role is the primary point of contact for businesses, delivering tailored financial solutions across loans, deposits, treasury management, and other banking services. You’ll drive new business, structure credit, manage relationships, and ensure all lending activities meet policy and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand and manage a portfolio of commercial clients.

  • Lead and participate in loan and deposit transactions.

  • Structure and price loan, deposit, and treasury management relationships.

  • Coordinate and complete credit applications and administration.

  • Present credit requests to senior management or Loan Committee.

  • Manage all aspects of client relationships: loans, deposits, TM, and other bank products.

  • Refer clients to Wealth Management, Mortgages, Treasury Management, and other departments.

  • Actively participate in new business development and acquire new clients.

  • Interview commercial loan and deposit applicants.

  • Analyze and structure new and renewed loan requests within lending authority.

  • Close loans and deposit relationships; complete full documentation.

  • Monitor loan policy compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • Work with credit teams on risk ratings.

  • Handle customer service issues for both lending and non-lending needs.

  • Monitor, guide, and train less experienced lenders as needed.

  • Participate in community events and represent the bank.

  • Cross-sell all bank products and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field with 12+ hours of Accounting.

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial lending and credit relationship management.

  • 10+ years of deposit and treasury management relationship experience.

  • Formal credit training required.

  • Strong sales and leadership abilities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word).

  • Ability to work flexible hours.

  • Must be bondable.
