Enterprise Mobility

Title:

Head of Risk - Global Franchising

Education (SMU specific):

Political Science, 1995

Career Background:

With Enterprise Mobility (Enterprise Rent-a-Car) for 30 years. I started on the rental side of the business before moving up in the Risk Management and Insurance side. After running Risk Management for the Dallas/Fort Worth Group for 10 years, I was promoted to corporate in 2020 to create and oversee our International Risk Management Program for our Global Franchising operations. I'm currently also serving on the Executive Board of DFW RIMS, I'm active in the Life After Ball program mentoring SMU student athletes, and I train and mentor high school and college offensive linemen in my free time.

What am I doing – describe your current role and objectives:

I am the head or Risk Management for the Global Franchising operations at Enterprise Mobility. I support franchise operators in over 90 countries — helping them run more effective, efficient, and brand-aligned businesses. My work blends operational coaching, risk and insurance guidance, and cultural mentorship to ensure our partners grow sustainably while protecting the Enterprise brand. I focus on helping franchisees succeed by building scalable systems, sharing what works, and fostering trust through clarity and consistency. I’ve now also quietly become a power user of GenAI platforms — not as a coder, but as a risk-aware innovator. I design prompts, build systems, and guide process improvements that support operational consistency, insurance compliance, and strategic planning. I’ve helped shape use cases that blend AI with institutional knowledge, policy adherence, and cross-border coordination.

Connections trying to make:

I'm looking to connect with fellow SMU alumni who: - Work in international operations, franchise leadership, or risk/insurance strategy - Are exploring or implementing GenAI within corporate settings — especially in non-technical roles - Have experience with brand protection, cross-border business models, or governance at scale - Share an interest in mentorship, sports leadership, or educational legacy building - I’m also open to learning from those who’ve navigated career reinvention later in their tenure, and from entrepreneurs or operators who value systems thinking, operational clarity, and long-term impact.
