In 2023, I launched a self-funded search focused on entrepreneurship through acquisition with the goal of acquiring a small business. I sourced and evaluated acquisition targets, built relationships with owners and intermediaries, conducted financial and operational due diligence, and refined my investment thesis in preparation for operating a privately held company.
Previously, I served as Executive Director of Operations for a nonprofit with a pledged two-year, $70 million operating and capital budget. I provided strategic leadership across key functions including finance, facilities, human resources, information technology, and contract administration, driving operational improvements and strengthening organizational alignment.
Earlier in my career, I served as an Assistant City Manager in municipal government, where I provided executive leadership for departments such as planning and development, fire, sanitation, and airport operations. I also led initiatives related to economic development, public infrastructure, and major capital projects.
What am I doing – describe your current role and objectives:
In 2024, I was recruited to join Cumming Group as a Senior Project Manager, serving as Owner’s Representative. I lead capital projects on behalf of the owner, managing every phase from planning through execution. My responsibilities include coordinating architects, engineers, and contractors, overseeing budgets and schedules, and ensuring each project meets the client’s goals and expectations.
Connections trying to make:
Although I’m currently working full time, I’m open to exploring opportunities to pursue something entrepreneurial or in real estate development, either as a full-time transition or a side venture. I’m interested in building relationships with others who are operating in these spaces, whether through acquisitions, development projects, or early-stage ventures. I value conversations that offer perspective, spark ideas, and open doors for potential collaboration down the road.
