Senior Director of Operations, Clinically Integrated Network
Education (SMU specific):
SMU: Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance
Career Background:
After receiving my Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at SMU, I started my career in Finance driven roles. I worked in Financial Planning at Accenture and Neiman Marcus, with both companies strengthening my financial acumen. I've always had an exposure and interest in the Healthcare industry. Population Health Management / Preventative Healthcare interest was on the rise. It was an excellent opportunity to dive into a new and growing industry. Healthcare Operational roles, were a perfect fit to combine my financial and operational expertise. I switched industries from finance to healthcare, received my MBA at Baylor University and dove into Population Health. Starting at Lightbeam Health Solutions, which is a web-based population health tool, and a start up at the time. Learning the strategies of preventative care and working with clients helped me to realize the exciting strategic planning that goes into managing Accountable Care Organizations. This led me to the health system side, and started working at USMD Health Solutions, managing ACO programs. United Healthcare / Optum then purchased WellMed & USMD, giving me exposure to acquisitions and change management. I am currently managing our ACO programs throughout TX and FL for WellMed Medicare Management. With all of my exposure and industry knowledge, I’ve been able to network with healthcare leaders throughout the country. I currently am a charter member of Population Health Leaders Network, which connects healthcare leaders throughout the country to promote and accelerate the adoption of innovative population health models. Since my shift into healthcare, I’ve enjoyed the strategic management of operations, growing our ACO coverage, and making preventative healthcare better for all.
What am I doing – describe your current role and objectives:
